The Big 10

Miller Bullock, owner of Miller’s Autoworx, was born and raised in Luling. He has a love for working with engines and figuring out what is wrong with them. That passion started when he was in high school and blossomed over the years as a side business to a full blown business. Miller’s is a full service auto and diesel vehicle maintenance business. “Thanks to our loyal customers, we have been able to recently expand to tires as well, and have added a new building,” he said.

Miller was doing work on vehicles on the side and that became more demanding. People would ask him to work on their vehicles and when the home garage couldn't handle all of the customers, the decision was made to start the business. So the shop did start small but over the years it has increased in size. And now, “We are happy to be celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary!”

Our business is unique because we work with our customers. We work hard to communicate with them about their vehicle needs and their options. We try to fit our customers schedules by offering rides, having an evening drop box,and allowing for payments over the phone and online. Having a sister company with a tow truck is a big help as well. We also give our customers as much information as possible so they can make decisions based on what works best for them.

One of the challenges that we have had to overcome is the way people find us. Back in the day Yellow Pages was what we turned to. Now, with the internet age, it is a must to have a presence on-line. We are very thankful for this because it is a great place for people to leave feedback for us and for us to see if we are going in the right direction. Becoming more familiar with Google and other customer connections has made a big difference for us. The challenge of getting the customers who broke down to us was a problem for a while. Then we looked into getting a sister company with a tow truck. Now we can help customers find us and offer a special rate.

As a business it is great to hear people talk about you. Having someone not realize who you are and hear their stories of how we were so helpful are some of the best moments! That's why we do what we do.

As for future plans, we will continue to work on our Tire Center. We offer alignments, tires, flat repair and more, and we have a Road Force Balancing machine. Miller’s has been good for the community, and the community members have been good for the company. To anyone planning to begin a business locally the company urges, “it's not easy, but with a dream and a desire it can be done. Be flexible to what is in demand and don't take criticism personally.”

Miller likes working in Luling - being close to family and the community. “It's a great place to live, raise a family and work.” There are choices available in the community. Miller feels that hopping local makes a difference to this small town. “On top of everything you just can't beat the small town love and commitment.” “We work hard for our customers because they chose to come to us. We thank them one and all!!
